We’re all unique in our own ways. You might be the type who’d want to read a good book with a cup of coffee on a Sunday, or go on a road trip with your best friends or maybe just survive the day.
Just like our personalities, we’re all a certain kind of traveller and are happiest with a certain group of people. To make sure you have the best experience with us, we’ve come up with the best destinations for every kind of traveller out there.
And if you don’t find a traveller like you, that’s probably because you’re all of them at once!
1. Japan for the ones seeking beauty
Wake up to a view of the white snow-capped Mount Fuji towering in the backdrop of a beautiful lake. Feel thousands of light pink petals falling on you during the Cherry Blossoms season. Stay in rustic wooden Ryokans. Stroll past neon lights and bustling nightlife. Or explore unforgettably green bamboo forests. No matter where beauty in Japan isn’t right around the corner. It’s in front of you.
A country you’ll fall in love with from the moment your flight touches down. An island where every sunrise is as gorgeous as when the sun sets. And every single walk through the streets will be one to remember.
2. Kenya for the wild at heart
Picture yourself in a top-down jeep as you zoom around the Masai Mara wilderness in Southwest Kenya. Take a whiff of that fresh air as you fall in love with nature. Towards the end of the day, hop on a hot air balloon and float through tranquility and peace. Look down below and witness a herd of antelopes hop away, or a lioness crouching behind the bushes waiting for the perfect moment to strike, as still as a statue. Scan the tree tops and you might find the necks of the giraffes sticking out of them, as the sun settles down for the day in the horizon. You’re gliding into tomorrow.
3. Morocco for those meditative minds
A country so peaceful and with people, mountains, oceans and deserts so beautiful, Morocco makes you rethink everything. Including how to let go and be at peace with yourself. You end up forgetting all your problems and learn to live in the moment.
For instance, where else can you picture a city cloaked entirely in blue? Walls, doors, windows and the floors are all either blue or a shade of it. From turquoise and teal to Prussian, Chefcahouen has it all.
4. Croatia for the foodies within us
Let’s face it. A lot of us travel for the exotic food that new destinations have to offer. To let our tongues lose and salivate over those delicious appetizers. We’ve been there too, and honestly, we can’t think of a country better than Croatia to experience all the food your stomach can handle!
Just the names of these dishes are enough to make you salivate. We have the Black Risotto, a traditional seafood dish, Fritule which is a dessert pastry and you definitely cannot miss the Fuzi & Pljukanci which is the traditional pasta of the region. There’s something for all of us.
5. Australia for the adventurers who do it all
Welcome to the world’s smallest continent (and the largest island). A place where your adventures are as vast as the horizon and the conversations flow as freely as their beers. Australians are some of the friendliest people on the planet and they believe they can do anything. Don’t believe us?
Head on over to their beautiful island and see for yourself. You can do it all, be it snorkeling above one of the world’s most awe staggering natural wonders, the great barrier reef which is also the largest living structure on the planet. Or take a guided tour to the top of the Sydney harbor bridge. Hike or mountain bike or horse ride over the picturesque blue mountains national park. And don’t forget Kangaroo island. Thousands of Koalas, Kangaroos and Wallabies roam the lands freely.
6. South Caucasus for the vibrant traveller
A place inspired by different cultures, religions, languages, and architecture, this region is one of the hottest destinations in the world right now. With some of the best natural sceneries, peppered with mountains, lakes, and forests, get ready to discover offbeat and underappreciated destinations.
A fascinating mix of the old and the new, you’ll find valleys with flowers of all the natural colours, and caves with drawings dating back to the stone age. Or you can visit Yanar Dag, a natural fire mountain that has been burning for centuries or have some of their delicious wine. South Caucasus has it all.
7. South America for the crazy explorer
“The itinerary was so rich, you’d think today would be kind of a down day, no, that next day will be better than the day before”, says one of our travellers who recently explored this region.
Are you the type of traveller who likes to do the things a few ever choose to do? Do you miss getting that crazy side of you back on without having to worry about what people might think or say?
You can do anything, starting from hiking across the Amazon in Brazil or El Calafate in Argentina. Or if you aren’t the kind who likes walking, shoot through the rapids on the lower Urubamba river. You could rent a trail bike and zoom around at your leisure. For those who want crazier experiences, try watching a local football match live or even attend the annual carnival festival and beach parties!
So, you love the ocean you say? A world so big, that humans have only explored 5% of it. Travel to the homeland of the Vikings, some of the most daring seafarers to have ever sailed across the planet.
Wondering what Scandinavia has to offer for all you water lovers? You could go whale watching on a bright sunny day, or hop on the Copenhagen canal tour and listen to all the tales and trivia about the city from your charming guide. Or, you could snorkel in Reykjavik or just swim around in the blue lagoons of Iceland.
There’s so much to do here that you’ll need close to a year to actually do it all. But the one thing you most certainly should try seeing is the Aurora Borealis (the Northern lights), one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
9. Spain & Portugal for the young at heart
You’ve probably watched bullfights as a kid, now’s your chance to see the real thing and let yourself loose.
Or if you’re one for the nightlife, head on over to Ibiza for the most happening parties that go on till dawn.
If you are hungry for more, we have the perfect festival for you, La Tomatina. Celebrate feeling young and alive as you fling tomato after tomato on your buddies!
The fun doesn’t end here. Hop on to a bus that takes you to Spain’s neighbour – Portugal. Here, the adventure gets better!
Ride on waves over a 100 feet tall, gaze at bottlenose dolphins, ski/ paraglide/ bike across the Serra Da Estrela. Or take a laid back wine tasting tour and just relax, sipping some of the world’s best wine.
10. Egypt for the time traveller
Travel to the glory days of the Egyptian civilization, beautifully preserved and over 30 centuries old!
It might take some time to accept that the flight you caught wasn’t actually a time machine.
While you stare up at the colossal pyramids, the thought of human potential can be numbing.
Oh, and the Great Pyramid of Giza is the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world which still stands. An out of the world experience.
11. Jordan for the ones who stand out
A country meant only for the chosen few. Are you the kind who follows the herd? Or are you the wolf that leads them? Jordan is a country for the ones who go against the flow to experience something so beautiful, it’s most likely that you’ll have the entire place to yourself.
You can visit the ancient city of Petra in the day and travel across the Martian landscapes of Wadi Rum at dusk. The rock brides and the ancient cave drawings can make you wonder how beautiful and ancient this country is. Float around in the Dead Sea and take a therapeutic mud bath later on. Ah, paradise.
12. Turkey for the lover within us
“Poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for” – Dead Poets Society.
A country known for its hospitality and its people. A number of our travellers have come back with stories narrating how they were invited by locals to their homes for lunch. The people here are known to let loose and have a good time. If you get to visit a Turkish wedding, you’ll see the oldest couple dance along to a romantic Turkish song.
The Turks just love to love. They believe in people, soulmates, a connection, and they savour all the emotions that come along with it. The friends you make here will always be with you through your best and worst days.
When a Turkish person is happy, they’ll make sure everyone around them feels happy too.
